What you can do is download the DEM terrain files for the area of the globe you are looking for then use the built in Google Earth overlay to get a visual representation of where the tracks and scenery goes.

I have made some progress on 1666D/C and have presented this in the form of a 10x TimeLapse on my YouTube channel, this one focuses on the terrain and some trackside work at Hanwerth Clippenham, hope you like it, I aim to make 1-2 of these TimeLapses per week to show all of the progress as it happen...
