Re: BMG BR Rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific

Given how similar looking they are I think you'd have to be a real enthusiast to want both models. For authentic services on a SR main line route, such as Trevor Wood's Southampton-Weymouth, you would need both - the Merchant Navy class handled most of the main express services. For lesser SR route...

Re: Thoughts - GWR 3700 City class

GWR loco green did get lighter over the years, though I doubt that's the explanation here.

Re: Thoughts - GWR 3700 City class

The JT City/3700 model dates from 2013, so yes it's not up to the standards of more recent stuff.

Re: West of England Mainline SR/BR(S) era

We thought it was about time there was a proper SR/BR(S) mainline route for everyone to run their Bulleids, Maunsells, Uries and everything else on. There already is - Trevor Wood's Southampton to Weymouth route, available from Steam Sounds Supreme. But yours looks very good - are those custom asse...

Re: TSW2

Given that my post preceded the very marginal progress you mention, it was hardly a misconception on my part.

Re: TSW2

TSW getting steam traction would be a big deal, and I'd be very surprised if it came first from a third-party developer.

Re: TSW2

It makes no business sense to have two sims addressing the same niche market. So I've always assumed that DTG intended TSW to replace TS, but that the technical challenges of adding editors/steam effects etc have proved either insuperable or uneconomic in light of TSW's poor sales performance.

Re: TSW2

Agreed. I buy DLC only rarely and will have much less incentive to do so if I have to buy TSW2 first.

Re: TSW2

If you are unfamiliar with Run8 I suggest you read through this description of its multiplayer features and understand how much extra they add to a game session. It's far more sophisticated than simply multiple players driving trains. Note that all sessions are private, so there is no risk of unwelc...

Re: TSW2

So in addition to being a distinctly marginal improvement, existing TSW owners won't get the game upgrade and so won't be able to run future DLC.

Still no multiplayer, world editor, third-party content or steam outline.

DTG have really lost the plot on this one.

Re: Bossman Games

The most appropriate steam-era route for the RMN is probably Southampton-Weymouth. Quite a few of them were allocated to Weymouth in the 1960s for Waterloo services and they worked the Royal Wessex and Channel Island boat trains.

Re: Bossman Games

Did you press E to unlock the reverser at the same time?
Yes. The regulator can be set in cab view but HUD remains at 0%. Regulator appears unresponsive to keyboard in camera view.
