Re: Roderic's Works

There is a lot of jargon used in modelling, and it's confusing - I agree. A primitive is just a basic shape. In TSM these are what you usually start with - cubes, cylinders, spheres. Vertices, points, nodes are all the same thing, in my understanding. Objects and sub-objects? Not sure. I have been u...

Re: Roderic's Works

Good to hear that you are having a go at modelling. Which modelling tools are you using?

Re: Potteries Route Patch #3

Thanks very much for the update. I have just run the Rudyard Lake activity, and I was very impressed, as usual, with the scenery. The use of photographic textures on the buildings, and the intelligent use of single sided scenery, makes it all look very realistic. The use of berms on the track and th...

Re: 3D cab for various Tender Locomotives

Ah, that would explain it. As I mentioned, that sound was not included in the download. It may be available from Darwins AWS files on here. https://members.uktrainsim.com/filelib- ... leid=39793

When does that sound occur during the simulation, I wonder?

I wonder why that is happening? It wasn't included in the download.

Re: 3D cab for various Tender Locomotives

Hi David, That i my understanding, yes. If the modified .eng file is placed in the Openrails Folder (as in the instructions), then this version of the .eng file is invisible to MSTS. The original unedited .eng file stays where it is, in the main Loco folder. It may be that an edited tender .wag file...

Re: 3D cab for various Tender Locomotives

Hi David,

I was referring to the cases where the Crew FA have been added to the Tender. If the crew have been added to the Engine's .eng file, then that is fine and they do not need to be deleted.

I hope that clears it up?

3D cab for various Tender Locomotives

Now Darwin has released his excellent Jubilee package, which includes a 3D cab; it is time to make the same cab model available as an add-on to other LMS type locomotives. The cab can be added to existing models and is suitable for a number of types, including Black 5, 8F, Patriot, Rebuilt Royal Sco...

Ged is right. OR supports multiple freight animations. It's all in the manual, but I can provide an example if you need it.

Re: Moving Routes Into Open Rails

If you have Openrails installed, and the new route is installed in the same place as the other routes, it should just appear. If you have installed the route in a different location, for instance as a miniroute, then you need to use the options button n the Openrails start page, and then the Content...

Revised 3d cab for Class 37 Diesel

Class37_3d_v2.JPG After revising the class47, I decided to do the same for the class37. These have been two of the most popular diesel locomotive cabs I have made. Once again, I have added the functioning AWS sunflower and reset button. This works well in scenarios and adds a further level of inter...

Revised 3d cab for Class 47 Diesel

Cab_Mk2.JPG I decided to have a look at my Class 47 3D cab, as it was one of the first I tried, back in early 2019. My subsequent models have been moving me along the learning curve and so I found several things that could be improved. I particularly wanted to add the functioning AWS indicator. I h...
