Re: Master Key Simulations

an emu that only ran over the 28 miles or so non stop to and from Gatwick. If I remember correctly they ran over the entire BML in the latter years of their service? Although the lead coach was a power car I did not hear any motor sounds or any rail joint sounds. Power bogies on the driving coaches...

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 43 (MTU)/Mk3 Enhancement Pack

coincidence that is it not? Well no it's not a coincidence since nobody considered things like the exterior front-end polycount to be acceptable in the first place. You're considering everyone to find it "OK" because you don't see anyone on the forum complaining about it constantly, which is rather...

Re: Placing 3rd rail

I don't think there's a limit to the distance or a fixed amount, but in reality you would have to break the rail to include equipment to modulate the amplitude and voltage along the line between sub stations. Also consider which side of the track the 3rd rail is placed on, for example with double tr...

Re: DTG announces new content

You mean like the old MSTS version of the route, which came with virtually every thing to run it out of the box, stacks of locomotives, freight stock and MK1&2 coaches, route includes Almwych Branch,Ffestiniog branch,Llandudno to Llandudno Junction. I reckon if DTG do it you probably get a class 45 or ...

Re: remove gloss on texture

Gloss is indeed set by the alpha channel of the texture. You should be able to remove the reflection by setting the alpha to black, though I suspect you may have something going wrong with saving it. Best thing to do when you're unsure of the texture's state after saving it is to re-load the TGPCDX ...

Re: North London Line ...coming soon!

Work in Progress is a laugh as it's the same station that has appeared in London to Bedford and London to Faversham. Honestly, I've seen way too many people make the complaint that they're previewing St. Pancras when it's already appeared twice before. You're perfectly happy to take 2-3 previews wi...

Re: General Comment To Dovetail Games

I find DTG's marketing tactics rather amusing. It's somewhat obvious to me that they have found a target market that they can easily impress and get sales from, that being the kids. The "extreme" jargon has no effect on users like you or me, but you can be sure it has the kids leaping out of their s...

Re: Lua GetTrackType Electric or not?

As far as I recall, a LUA call for that type of information has been requested for many years but has failed to see the light of day. because the game does not allow you to use electric engines on track without electric power. That's entirely hard coded to reference the encoded simulation blueprint ...

Re: Using ReDem

Looks like you're making it way too complicated for yourself. Firstly, there's no need to use any external program to use DEM data in TS. Height files can just be dropped into the directory "railworks/DEM/SRTM" (if there's no SRTM folder just create one) and then loaded in TS at the correct coordina...

Re: 'TOP TEN TS2016 MYTHS' article on Engine Driver site

I'm totally baffled by the some of the responses in this thread, some of the posters seem to be completely misinterpreting the article. The article clearly states twice that the upgrade is not free as usual. A direct quote from the article 'You'll need to buy TS2016 to get access to all of this how...

Re: 'TOP TEN TS2016 MYTHS' article on Engine Driver site

Hmm, the fact that they felt the need to stress point 7 would imply it may not be the normal yearly update we're used to. Well I think they put that there to answer the same question they get every year without fail. Yet despite the article clearly stating that the upgrade is free as usual, most of...

Re: What scale of new loco for TS

Scale doesn't really apply in TS. What's the actual dimensions of the loco in meters? You should have your units set up in Max to be in meters instead of the generic Max unit length, then make sure the model is the same size as the real-life equivalent by creating a box which has the same dimensions...

Re: Disillusioned once more

Funny old forum this. People moan about these short A-B modern routes DTG have been doing. So here we have a network going back to the days of steam and green diesels and they rip it to bits. Devs are damned if they do and damned if they don't so they just can't win. As for Deltics work I hope he c...
