Re: A Little Bit Of Atmosphere! 9

Just popping by, but I do wonder how many 4k screenshots have been posted before. :)

For those wondering, on a GTX780 it runs around 30-40fps on max graphics. :)

Re: Hyperthreading for UE4

When it comes to hyper threading, all it actually is is an exploitation of the CPU pipeline. It's not actually an Intel-only concept in its, well, conception - its known as Simultaneous Multi threading elsewhere. Essentially, it allows different CPU threads/tasks that are completely independent of e...

Re: Intel I5 4670K CPU

Why not go with the 4690k? It's one of Intel's "Devils Canyon" chips so it'll run cooler and overclocks better than the 4670k. An inherent problem with Haswell chips is that they have fairly poor heat conduction so its not particularly common to see the 4.5+GHz levels that Sandy Bridge had, though t...

Have done some work for my open source Gresley V2 project today, mainly reshaping the wheel counterweights & cylinders as well as some detailing.

Re: AP Mk2 DBSO

As cab materials aren't easy to come by (a nice round 1 picture available on the web :) ), I thought I might inquire here about the availability of the DBSO's to the public. Does anyone know whether Anglia would be willing to let someone in to the storage location of one of their DBSO's so the cab ...

The Facebook post said about a reduced price add on I think.
Sorry, it was unclear who I was responding to: I was responding to USRailFan about original models :)

Gresley LNER V2

It's time for something a little different, so I'd thought I'd shake it up a bit: I've been making a LNER Gresley V2 in my spare time over the past month or so (not much, with exams and all) but I've made the decision to make it open source. For those not quite familiar with that that is, it essenti...

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 321

Just seen this go up on AP's facebook:

Seems to be nearing completion from what it seems, though I can't possibly think what they have left to do that makes it WIP. :)

Re: Class 319 EMU

There are of course some drawbacks to the massive texture sizes (though they seemingly don't outweigh the positives) - namely the massive file size; 64MB for a single uncompressed texture. Myself and Jordi have discussed (or argued, whatever you wish) about their use but one point is for certain: A ...

Very interesting info you've got there, sciff! Many thanks for weeding out this problem and posting it here for other people to use as reference, especially as it is so detailed. :)
