Re: US Route DONNER PASS
I guess I look at it this way. It was only 20$, so I don't feel especially ripped off. So far I have only done half of one free-roam scenario (from Roseville up to the pass) just to see what the route is like, and I have seen many of the defects that others have noted. None of them are fatal (they d...

Re: Trains Vs Zombies
Yep, that was good fun - worth the price of a pint I think! Does anything particularly interesting happen if you do run past End Of The Line? And what message do you get for opening the doors at Radley? I don't remember the message exactly, but it was something along the lines of "zombies entered t...

Re: Trains Vs Zombies
Nah, they just stand there  The narrative messages from the professor are great though. I ran into the witch above last night, though not at that location. Halfway into the first scenario, she and some others have torn the track up at a junction near Didcot. Looks good and we may even like to ...

Re: Trains Vs Zombies
So what happens if you ignore the instructions, like opening the doors, leaving the lights on or speeding near the power station?
So far I have finished the 1st two scenarios.

Re: Alternative to Something BAD has happened
Better yet, of course, would be error messages explaining what actually went wrong, and giving some idea of how to fix it. We live in eternal hope... Well to me the message means that RailWorks has crashed due to a bug in the RW core itself somewhere. It might not be easy to display anything more s...

Re: Explain RAM!
Having an abundance of RAM should keep your CPU and GPU clocking over quite nicely. Without enough RAM, the CPU and GPU cannot perform to their maximum capacity.! While true, there are limits. If you are running a 32-bit OS, anything beyond 4G would be a waste of money. And Railworks seems to be a ...

Re: Explain RAM!
i have a high performance system exept for the fact that it only has 4GB of ram, usualy i gan get around 80 fps on railworks, but on some routes it is only 30-40, would increasing the ram to 8GB make it run faster A little hard to say as you haven't given us much information. What kinds of CPU chip...

Re: Drive or RAM
If you have more than one stick of RAM, try unplugging each in turn and running the PC. If you've faulty RAM, it'll show up pretty quick, and, if you can source an individual stick, might save money too! Of course if nothing shows up, then it's off to the PC shop for another drive... 7&Y On the oth...

Re: Train Simulator 2012
I hate to bring this up, but what about generic bugfixes for problems that bedevil us in RS2? Things like the "Something bad has happened" errors (which has happened to be twice today), and the AI trains that drive around like chickens without heads and derail themselves (which has happened once to ...

Re: Train Simulator 2012
It has already been stated that old routes will work just fine with RW3. But what about the reverse? Would a new route with superelevations still work in the RW2? The reason I ask is that I am wondering if there would be value in RSC releasing the changes to the world editor ahead of RW3, which woul...

Re: Visit to RSC offices to seeRailWorks 3
Adding a bit to the comments about shadows in the cab, in fact this is a bit more sophisticated than just shadows. There was also bright sunlight moving across the controls and the cab walls. So we had shadows, surfaces lit by ambient lighting and bright sunlight all dynamically moving in relation ...

Re: Odd issues with ICE DLC.
Here is something weird I noticed. Normally when you crash, the camera pops out of the cab and circles around the cab. But I was just running it again, and I got a popup "AI driver 12NV has left the path at longitude: 7.45643, latitude: 51.35698". It wasn't anything I did - it was one of the AI trai...

Re: Odd issues with ICE DLC.
There were one or two issues in the original release by GR, but I thought they would have sent a fixed version to RSC. Which scenario was that exactly? I think I first saw it with the ATF tutorial (but I was just learning the controls there), and then saw it again in the scenario where there were t...

Odd issues with ICE DLC.
I have been playing with the German ICE that was released today, and a couple of times now the game suddenly stops with a fatal error. The most recent one was that I was "off path", but there was no obvious indicator as to what or why. There were no alerts about yellow signals as I was approaching. ...
