Don't sell yourself short, John. Without your sprinkling of magic, East Lancashire, RW stylee would be a howling, desolate wasteland.

Re: The Bacup Branch for Railworks

I like your semi-transparent decals. How do you line them up? I'm only used to using RWDecal. Forget exactly. The decal was probably made in Photoshop from an historic map scan, then lined up and scaled by eye to the tracks and markers which were already in place. Sorry I can't be more specific, as...

Re: Need some advice; Locomotive will not be placed on track

Great stuff! That is definitely a point to put in the notebook, how on earth would you be able to figure that out yourself :-? After hours and hours of frustration and trying to do it how the manuals said it should be done, looking at the actual blueprints for the default Kuju steam locos: that's h...

Re: I'm about to lose my project!

... When the dust settles, remember Max' most useful button is the teeny little + button next to the save button in the Save dialog: this saves the file as a copy with an incremented file name: dead handy, I sometimes have 10 or more versions of complex files to be tidied up later. .... That can be...

Re: I'm about to lose my project!

If it's not too late, you can try a few things: Max' default installation will save 3 rotating backups of your current scene at 5 minute intervals. There's a chance one of these is OK. So, find your auto backup files. Depending on your Max version, they could be named autobak*.max or autobackup*.max...

Once a gain thank you there are still some glitches like signaling and odd stuff I dont know much about, <snip> Regards John The trouble with the route is it was started using a very early pre-release development copy of RS as a test bed, and with it, I've made every mistake in the book as regards ...

Re: The Bacup Branch for Railworks

Those coaches are rather nice, what are they?

I've started blocking out some L&Y elliptical roofed bogie corridor stock, but I'll hang fire for a bit, I think.

Cheers,

Re: What happened to the materials?

You must make sure all the Kuju plug in files have gone into the right folders. It sounds like the plugins are installed, but the control files aren't The four files ShaderDesc.txt, App.fbk, kujuSurfaceTypes.txt, and default.fbk go into Max' local folder. For 3dsMax 2010 design, on my machine (Windo...

Kind regards James.
True: but to be honest, I based the layout and size on my Nan's house, where I was born, a long time ago, in Luton!

The other Bacup branch: from Bury to Bacup via Ramsbottom is now up on Nick Catford's wonderful Disused Stations website.

A lot of photos I've not seen before. Lovely.

Re: The Bacup Branch for Railworks

John, have you disabled shadows in Railworks? They all have shadow meshes enabled. If so, I'll need to re-send you the assets.
