Re: "Grey Walls"

UPDATE: For some reason, it's related to the Falmouth Branch 57xx. This reasoning is thus: I have tried some scenarios for my SWoE route, and both "Branch Passenger" (player controls a 57xx) and "Dairy Day" (AI 57xx on passenger train) both had the issue, and with "Dairy Day" when I was pointing a c...

Re: Getting started

The only restriction, as with any route, is are you asset creator too? I don't mean to insult, but often routes with specific region/time as the target often have to have custom assets created, and unless you can source these the effect intended might be lost. As for practicality - I would recommend...

Re: "Grey Walls"

That could be caused by a loco or indeed any other asset in the scenario that's giving the same effect as the LED signals---namely an incompatibility between versions. A quick check would be to create an empty scenario and have a fly around the route, if it displays fine then that points to a loco/...

Re: 56xx addon

On a sidenote, I'm still using the original 56xx files without issue, so maybe RSC's new asset filing system is the cause. Also bear in mind that (unless fixed) some of the wagons don't have a "loading" sound, so won't show containers, tarpaulin, sand, gravel, etc., which is why I had to create this .

"Grey Walls"

I've been coming across some strange graphical effects whilst editing my "South West of England" route in TS. Mainly, I keep getting these 'grey walls' which seem to appear at tile boundaries: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/487809416616145487/02EB5679DBEE192144E82FE19F75A6138619EC2A/ Any sugges...

Re: Great Central Railway V3 Release Thread

Being a slight tester/editor (I corrected the Swithland sidings signalling/area and added the start of the Mountsorrel Branch) I can say that the 3d track does NOT impinge on performance as many people think it would. Comparatively, I'd say* it's the equivalent of having 3 "old" style tracks compare...

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......

TSX can be turned off by going to "Options">"Graphics". What's all this ' Train Game' stuff?! It's an in joke due to RSC releasing yearly updates that instead of making the simulator more realistic (improved engine functions, 3d track INCLUDING points, extra toolsets) they're adding more game relate...

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......

TS2014 is working for me, though I would raise the following issues: > All achievements, and progress for said achievements, is NOT carried over to the new system (for either achievements or the Career page) > All NEW achievements are restricted for specific stock/route scenarios - and all seem to b...

As a (semi-regular) volunteer at the Mountsorrel Railway and a regular at Tyseley (Vintage Trains), just be aware you may wake up the morning after and find you have aches in places you never had aches in before! :D

Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September

Wow the sim has come a really long way if one of the most intriguing debates for its future development revolves around the modelling of 'people' in the sim :D Or it could be with given up with wanting other things implemented/updated because they haven't happened yet? Question: Are these pas...

Possibly because they like torturing their staff.

Re: The Royal Train

Model Rail did an article on the current Royal Train sometime within the past decade, and Hornby produced some packs not too long ago.

Other than that, a lot of the historic stuff was on a "per company" basis, each maintaining their own fleet IIRC. See the Wikipedia page.

Re: British models in America

The only thing I can say about British models not working in the US might be to do with US controllers only having half-rectification, or alternatively the higher current draw of UK stock.

(US domestic runs at 120, UK domestic runs at 240'; don't know if the US has higher amperage capacity or not)
