johan, i just replied to your question before reading this post. and now i do have to get rid of some thoughts wich might help me, you and maybe others here: - quite some of the very experienced helpers here dont speak english as a mother tongue. but funny enough, with babbelfish, google, dictionary...

hi johan the blueprint shown in the post is the blueprint of your loco (the one which hasnt got sound but needs it urgently ;) ) lucky for us, the other (the donator's, if you will 8) ) blueprint can be left untouched! all you have to know is where the original sound blueprint is located. As for controlling ripples and such, I did a lot of normal mapping work for my final year project and found the Crazy Bump software to be invaluable in producing normal maps with speed and ease, it's also incredibly easy to modify all of the settings with real time display on hand to gauge the resu...

im not shure, but ive found out that specialy with things that move ingame (e.g. boogies and wheels or even doors) the impact on framerate is higher if i use a bump map than if i just model the bolts .... but maybe thats my strange pc doing that :)

"engine" blueprint

"container component" section

maximise "children..." (green)

hit "insert first" which will give you a "S Child" (blue)

insert the audio link (yellow) into the child section. be aware that all is case sensitive!!

i just enter a child (chlid section of the engine blueprint) and direct it to the original sound. if you dont know where the original sound is located, go and search in the original engine file (via serz tool).....

i also had a sinking problem....i solved in checkin all entries and found that i entered the wrong value in the boogie blueprint (offset) in the bogie blueprint one should take the "horizontal offset" from the center of the bogie and not from the center of the train!!! ;) http://forums.uktrainsim.co...

sorry, im more a 3ds max man myself :(, but although the exporter should kill all animation-frames that are empty and after your last keyframe, i have found it doesnt work all that good. so i just shorten the total animation duration and set my last keyframe to the last frame in the whole scene........
