This article has a good write up on collision/couplings, plus a handy calculator that might clear things up a bit.

Make sure your control has a description, that should fix it.

Re: Animation problem -incredibly weird

Did you link your driving wheels to anything? I'm assuming from your description your motion gear was linked to the driving wheels, so my guess is that somewhere along the line your linkages have been broken by a dodgy xform issue. Generally I do all animation frame by frame to bypass these sorts of...

Re: TrainGlass.fx advice needed please

The alpha channel is within your glass texture itself. You should have an R,G,B and Alpha layer. Making the alpha black will make it very transparent, making the alpha white will make it very opaque. The TrainGlass shader is pretty simple, so I'm guessing this is the issue.

Re: TrainGlass.fx advice needed please

Does your glass texture have an alpha channel with the transparency values?

Re: Blueprint problem.

Have you tried resetting Xform on the box in 3ds Max? It might be inside out, which would explain why it's casting a shadow but cannot be seen.

Re: Trainglass.fx shader transparency issues

No, that shouldn't be a problem. It's interesting that some are affected and others are not. Presumably all windows share the same material, that being the one posted earlier?

Re: Coupling Blueprint Problems

Are the pivots between the coupled and uncoupled geometry identical? Personally I'd use Receiving point or Coupling point as the pivot type. Mid point does some funny stuff sometimes.

Re: Coupling Blueprint Problems

You say you've modified the receiving points, but have you modified the coupling pivot values? That defines where the coupling child geometry is placed within the scene. Is the coupler your own geometry? If so, bear in mind that the coupler's pivot will be the point that the coupling pivot value cor...

Re: Trainglass.fx shader transparency issues

Do you have any glass panels on the inside of the mesh, in addition to those on the exterior? That could well lead to sorting issues such as you're having. I replicated your setup on something I know works and couldn't replicate the problem, which is why I suspect additional mesh is lurking inside.

Re: Object not showing in Railworks

Make sure you have no duplicate node names in your scene. If it's not showing as a scenic object it seems likely this is what's causing it. Alternatively throw a texture on you know works, and try that.

Re: DT Terrier/IOW Route

The Terrier relies on default Kuju content which the IOW doesn't use. If you enable Kuju content in the world editor it should find the crew/smoke effects.
