Re: Cooling Tower
The first thing to add is that the original smoke objects should be credited to Larry Mullett. The second thing is that I was wrong in my previous post to say that changing the LOD entry in the .s file had not worked. The smoke is shown by Open Rails in the distance, I think that we can not see it a...

Re: Cooling Tower
I have made some progress with the vapour. Doc Martin has sent me the shape and texture files for his animated smoke, and they are great. I have increased the size of the smoke plumes using Shape File Manager, and placed them inside a cooling tower close to the train. What an improvement! The proble...

Re: Zurich
Here are 2 views of the route in Basel, with the line crossing the Rhine. The first image shows 4 tracks and a 6 lane motorway crossing the river. This view is looking south. The 2 LH tracks curve to the right near the tower blocks and then go to Basel SBB station. The 2 RH tracks curve left at the ...

Cooling Tower
One thing I am not sure how to model is the cooling tower for a nuclear power station, or rather the plume of water vapour coming from the top. I have constructed the tower which is still some 4km from the current railhead, but it looks a bit forlorn without the plume. I had thought of making it a g...

Re: A very rare combo
Hello Everyone It is good to hear that people are still interested in our hobby. I keep trying to get my brother interested, but he is sticking with his model railway. I am still plugging away at my Swiss route, going from Zurich to Basel. I did leave this for a while and started Euston in the late ...

Re: Unable to Add a picture in a post
If Matt could get Atomic Album going that would be the icing on a socially distanced cake!!!
I have no idea how much effort has gone into getting this new version of the site working but you are to be congratulated for it

Re: Oil Terminal Scenery
If there is no ref file why not write your own? Or copy one from another route? Delete everything apart from the top line SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0r1t______ and add an entry for each item you want to add. Another way to do it is to put the .s and .sd files into shapes and the .ace files into textures. T...

Re: New Route
Your Fix It program worked a treat Ged, as you can see in the picture. It took forever to do this, but that might be because my power option put the computer to sleep several times during the processing!!! [album 145789 UKFS-02.jpg] I am now going to experiment with ukfs, and possible track layouts ...

Re: New Route
Hi Ged
You have sorted it for me. Running comp/decomp, and the Fixit is now processing the files.
I got no error message, just the usual warning about "Do you really want to allow this program to make changes to your computer?"
I will let you know later what the track looks like.

Re: New Route
Hi Ged I am having problems with your fixer, I have obviously done something wrong. I have installed UKFS v3.1.6 into E:1MSTS/Global/Shapes and have lots of ukfs.... .s and .sd files dated 2002/3 I have tried various of the .ace files you suggested, but I am not sure which one is in my route now. I ...

Re: New Route
I am having a few problems with ukfs and I am going off the idea of using it. I may go back to using the standard A1t A2t etc. The problem I am having is with the textures. Some of the track pieces show the sleepers when laid in TSRE, and some do not. There seems to be no logic to this either. A dou...

Re: Deleting Crafter 10.2
I use 3DCrafter 9.1, running on Windows 10.
I have looked at the link posted by Ozzydriver
https://3dcrafter.software.informer.com/download/
I have not downloaded 9.1.msi but the file is the right size
I think that you can have this version and a v10 installed at the same time.
