Re: TSW performance - optimal set-up

It essentially means that "SSAA" is done by the GPU and the drivers, rather than TSW.

Re: TSW performance - optimal set-up

Cannot Simugraph calculations be offloaded to the GPU? If anyway the GPU have spare capacity in this game, and GPUs are generally good at the kind of calculations involved, wouldn't that be an overall win? AFAIK This can be done to an extent by forcing PhysX to run on your GPU, if you have nVidia. ...

Re: Graphics and FPS problems

Does the frame rate change as you increase/decrease the graphics detail (even if it gets worse)? Do you have vsync on or off? Are you in full screen, or windowed full screen, or just windowed? What is your screen percentage? What screen resolution are you running at? What tutorial/scenario/service a...

Re: Bug with the GP38-2, does anyone else have this?

In my experience, when it comes to piping, the smoother the fps (as in changes in the fps, not just low) helps. For example if you can get it running at just 10fps, it usually is better than it jumping between 10 fps and 30 fps.

Re: New mod sounds for GP38

I'd be interested to know how they did it. It appears to all be compiled into one .pak file. Not sure how to unpack it!

Re: Honest opinion and a couple of questions.

I'm pretty sure that all the code is new from scratch, with the exception of the UE4 game engine.

whereabouts did you make the save? Was this before or after the train that comes into the loop on your right?

Re: Resuming a Saved Game

Yeah I got this too. It appears that on resume, the objective marker is at the loco. When you complete the next objective, the marker resets and then shows at the correct location for the objective after.

Very good point. Pushing physx into the GPU might get some parrallelisation into simugraph. I will have a go later.

Re: TSW performance - optimal set-up

Interesting. I have an older machine too - a powerful gaming PC that was top of the range a few years ago but sadly not today. However it is more than good enough to play TS2017 on high settings but at present I am getting pretty weird results on TSW. In Tutorials I have got FPS regularly around th...

Re: TSW performance - optimal set-up

It is becoming clear to me that CPU is going to be a big factor in this sim. I have just set up dad, who has a GTX 1080, but with 16GB of DDR3 and a 3.4GHz AMD processor from 2009. On ultra, FXAA, and with post process turned down to medium (looks less washed out like that), he's getting 19fps. My v...

Getting out to change the points can be a bit tiresome after a while, but you can change them while flying around in 8 view, and from the map on key 9.
