What a trip.. hardly any effort going up ais gill at all! Then 70mph+ stretches on the West Coast Main Line.. I bet it made a wonderfull sight!

Did anyone see it/was on it?

Why a light railway order?

On the Titfield Thunderbolt a light railway order is chosen to avoid many problems.

What are the problems the alternative would present?

I just want to know why all preserved lines are light railways, with that 25mph limit.

Just now got back from seeing it come through Warrington. Wasnt going as fast as I had hoped for, but I blame it on the Pendolinos, especially as one left about 3 minutes before it. Has red diesel behind it. Still a great sight though.

Do you really think that anyone is going to say 'yep, lets get rid of them!'.
I'm sure there is atleast one person on the forums who opposes to them. The fact they indanger commuters being on time by slowing other trains down may be a factor in someone's opinion.
