Re: Sound Problems

Getting distorted sound here as well with the latest publicly available release, Win Vista / M-Audio Revolution 5.1 sound here. As others have mentioned, some of the sounds are ok while others such as passenger and loco cab sounds are distorted. I tested it with several routes, one of which is the e...

Re: I've found out why there are so few scenarios for RW

Hi sanyix, a couple tips from me. As of the last couple of RW updates, I've noticed that several things changed which affect scenario making. One, some of the existing signals just don't work and won't work until you've deleted them from the route and replaced them with new ones. I specifically saw ...

Re: RW heightfield format

It uses single precision floats as per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE754. Otherwise, AndiS has the dimensions exactly right. The numbers are "reversed" because of it being in a little-endian format as stored. I hope this clears it up a bit.

Re: Railworks sound issues

Quite right, at least others are confirming this issue. I'm getting it with a M-Audio Revolution 5.1 card and practically all my sound packs. As all of you mentioned though, switching cabs seems to fix it, more or less. I've found that I have more success getting sounds back in passenger cam mode vs...

Re: RailWorksProc error

Blueprint being deleted with non-zero ref count ASSERT(mRefCount == 0); cBlueprint::~cBlueprint() c:\dev\railsim\code\publicinterfaces\../Libs/Blueprints/cBlueprint.d.h : 65 Actually that might be a part of the problem given what I've found out. It simply says the blueprint object could not be dest...

Re: Dispatcher from hell -- Grr!

Ahh the darned dispatcher again! Instead of a solution I'm just adding my own similar experiences to this thread. Except that in my case, I don't even get the exit signal to open for me at the start of a scenario, less I press G to flip the switch (often set against me) myself. At the next se...

Re: Is there a way?

There are a couple roundabout ways of doing it. Either involves a 3rd party program. One that I've put out is krstool(2) which is hosted here. If you open this and find about where you want to end up it will show you your current latitude and longitude - take note of those and enter them into railwo...

Re: RailWorksProc error

Well it's definitely not limited to one kind of processor or another and it's starting to look more and more like an obscure secondary bug (as in, the problems tend to not happen consistently but only in certain general situations except for the folks who get the error right away). So with that in m...

Re: Derek & Adam Keep in Touch

Just read it too, very interesting. Wasn't aware we were viewed as the "Death Star" of the train sim community but it seems that's the case. Is it only me or are most people on these forums *not* out to condemn RS/RW outright? [Disclaimer: I have significant gaps between times I visit the forums] Ch...

Re: Guidelines for Scenario Creation

I removed 3X500m of track where the train stalled, and relaid it,no signals were changed, and it worked 100% This is a VERY important find! Could you provide us with some more detail on what you did (like I'm not sure how the track can be changed without wiping out the signals attached to it). Anyway...

Re: Lost all patience

Hi Sniper. fella, they work as the show driver list shows all ai as succeded
Indeed it does but in many of my tests the scenario would fail anyway even if it says it's succeeded. I've found the simulation pre-scenario is not a good way to see what will actually happen.

Re: I'm happy with Rail Works

So Whats all this about, any ideas ? Before getting totally off topic, I'll admit I'm a complete noob regards locomotives, physics, and rolling stock design in general. The screenshot looks very interesting but I'm not sure of the significance. I'll leave it to more knowledgeable folks to speak on t...

Re: Signal Trouble

but one thing i have noticed is that the more ai you have the more unstable your scenario get's! Never saw the railworksproc error until I added a couple AI services to the passing loop test scenario. Then it started to randomly do that and fairly frequently. Definitely something funny going on the...

Re: Are we going to get some type of update on the state of RW?

I've often had my doubts that they have any actual programmers working there, this seems to confirm it. You obviously haven't visited http://www.thedailywtf.com . Not part of that site or anything, but it came to mind right away. H*ll I'd volunteer to fix the code if that was possible, not like I d...

Re: EAX

Good to see people can use the NT 6 EAX add-ons for Creative cards. Has anyone used RS/RW both with a Creative card and then with a 'regular' card that only supports EAX 2? I'm not a creative fan so don't have any of their hardware but would be curious to hear about any differences. Just wondering.....
