Re: Customising routes

To cut a very long story short, near impossible to reverse a route :) BVE is a simple linear worldspace, with nothing internally that'd allow you to do that. Further, if you drop out of the cab and spin the camera around 180 degrees, you'll find that most routes don't bother to build the backs of ob...

Re: TS2015 Raildriver Interface

I'll admit I was fiddling around a bit :P 2.1.1 seems to solve both issues. I can't explain the second without access to the source and a debugger, so I'd just put it down to one of life's little mysteries. The reason I'd loaded the default Raildriver button map was because the buttons don't seem to...

Re: TS2015 Raildriver Interface

Another bug:
1. Set to Advanced Mode.
2. Load the provided Raildriver button map.
3. Press start button.
4. Click out of the window.

This gives a heap corruption in NTDLL, if I had to guess it's your PIE HID callback somewhere, but I'd need to see the source to start digging.

Re: TS2015 Raildriver Interface

Bug: 1. Extract data. 2. Install additonal APs. 3. Attempt to extract data again, pressing the copy back option. This fails with an objectdisposed error on what I think is your progress form. Happy to go diving if source code is available :) (I seem to have ended up as the maintainer of openBVE if y...

Re: Railway Items for sale.

It very much depends on what you know / can prove. Makers plates are always more valuable if they've got some provenance, which you I suspect are lacking. As you've guessed, the GEC electrical equipment & build date means it's from a Class 21. Probably D6300 - D6310 from the build date, but I'm not ...

Re: openBVE New Program Version

Whilst I agree in principle with not altering legacy behaviour, when it is inconsistent and plain broken for the majority of cases, changes such as this are worthwhile to make. Any change which alters the behavior of unmodified legacy content will always be discussed before it makes it into a 'stabl...

Re: openBVE New Program Version

CHRIS: Using your version from yesterday, Train Horns now key and sound as they did in versions 2017Mar05 and earlier. Thanks for that fix. BC Following discussion with various people, the stock behaviour for MusicHorn has been reverted to a toggle :) Please Note: When the new sound / train format ...

Re: openBVE New Program Version

My reasoning is as follows: Primary & Secondary horns Michelle's documentation states that they should trigger once when the key is pressed, and not repeat. This would appear to be logical to me. Instead, the sound was started once a frame, leading to the start of the sound 'stuttering' until the ke...

Re: openBVE New Program Version

I've just added an errata note documenting the current state of affairs and my reasoning:

The music horn behaviour is subject to discussion/ change at this point.

Re: openBVE New Program Version

Hmm, you've discovered another bit of somewhat inconsistent legacy behavior.... The most recent few builds have been involved in extending the horn sounds, and additionally in 'correcting' the behavior so that it's consistent with the developer documentation; When something is discovered that's brok...

Re: BVE getting going

Leezer3 AKA Chris: Thanks for todays (Jan 26 2017) openBVE update, allowing "train sway while loading" to be enabled\disabled via an options menu checkbox. Previously, trains sitting at a station swaying like leaves in a 50mph+ cross breeze, seemed less than realistic. Good work. You're clear to pr...

Re: OpenBVE Questions?

If it's the one I think it is, the short answer is little to no difference. Longer answer: The one I think you're thinking of (Was posted about the place as 1.4.3a) has no technical changes of merit. What was actually done, was that it was compiled with a much newer version of Visual Studio, which i...

Re: Game engines and frameworks, File formats.

I see most posts on openBVE, just don't always get as far as replying unless I've got something of use to say ;) Some technical details (For what it's worth): openBVE uses openGL for it's base graphics implementation. This is provided by OpenTK, which is also being used for the window bindings/ inpu...

Re: TS2016 available for 1$ = 83p

Handily, you'll find that this will apply to an existing copy of Rail Simulator :)

If you're missing any of the DLC included with 2016 ( Exeter- Kingswear, Sherman Hill & West Rhine: Cologne to Koblenz plus associated stock), this will add them.

Re: Animated Objects: Following The Track

I've been asked elsewhere for a function that moves then stops the train, rather than cycles (This was the easiest demonstration) This is a slightly hacky function that does that: TrackFollowerFunction = if[value == 0, value + 1000, if[value < 0, value, value - 10 * delta]] A breakdown of the functi...
