OLDER Versions of RailWorks [1, 2 and 3: Train Simulator 2012]
Whether it's RailWorks 1, RailWorks 2 or RailWorks 3 Train Simulator 2012 - this is the place to discuss it, and all the myriad of add-ons that are available for it. There's a fantastic FAQ section being built up that contains lots of answers to common questions so that's a great place to start first. Next stop, Help for Beginners and General Discussion and then there's a number of forums about various more specific topics. Railworks 4: Train Simulator 2013 has its own forum.

Microsoft Train Simulator 1
The original and first of a new generation released back in 2001, redefined what people expected from a Train Simulator. It wasn't perfect, but with enough tools provided and immense support from the rapidly growing community it is still being used 6 or more years later. Developed by Kuju and published by Microsoft.

OpenRails
A new free open source transport simulator that is MSTS compatible! It's still in heavy development but downloadable now to have a go, including source. Find out at more at http://www.openrails.org - Still a LONG way to go before this is finished, so don't expect things to work without issues and be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get technical with it, it's *not* really meant for end-user usage yet.

Special Interest Forums
Discussion relating to these specialised areas is NOT limited to any particular simulator. There aren't enough people/topics to balance the dilution of discussion if multiple forums are managed for each simulator. It is advised and recommended that if your topic relates to a particular simulator that you prefix the title with the simulator name abbreviation. Microsoft Train Simulator [MSTS], N3V Trainz Simulator [TRAINZ]. Open Rails [OR] or Dovetail Games Train Simulator 2014 [TS2014] for example.

Blender
A fantastic, very powerful and free 3D modelling tool for which you can now get a Rail Simulator export! Includes many features the pro's use that are not found in 3D Canvas like texture baking; but is a lot more tricky to use than 3D Canvas.
