Cheers to Ben for the tip off.

Ive switched the images to thumbnails which you can click on. The full size images are near 2Mb's each. Quite a hefty download just to view the thread.

Whoa. I didn't even know Kuju had started on US content. Very nice!

I spy two things I like the look of.

1) Pretty water
2) Telegraph poles with things hanging between them :D
Edit: Actually make that three, the rocky embankment on the left of the first shot looks promising, I hope it's a hint as to the terraforming abilities of KRS! (although I'm assuming the rocks on the second shot are just objects)

Cheers to you and Ben (whoever he is, I'm fairly new here  )

woah, thats a decent draw distance! Bit fuzzy, reminds me of the TMTS wip screenshots, but mightily impressive. Is this what 3DTS were doing or am i getting confused?

Yes thats a fair comment but they do offer a different challenge. e.g. not to roll back down the moutain and everything ending in tears.... :D

NOW this simulator is getting interesting for me.
Pretty, dirty diesels, THAT does it for me - preordered :D

A question though - Have shadows been turned off or do the bridges simply don't cast shadows. (My guess is they have been turned off)

And - Can we load / unload the freight wagons at industries and is there an offer / demand model for resources ? (I better be able to do that or I'll book a flight and visit the Kuju offices 8) )
That still has not been answered, come on Adam :) give me a yes or a no ...

Much appreciated

Re. 3DTS: Their website says that they did something for KRS, but that it's a secret.

The pictures reinforce my fears about the lack of realistic embankments.
It looks exactly like on good MSTS routes: The terrain "happens" to be level near the track, while it is hilly in the background.
The rocks are objects of course.
The zigzagged spillover of the (bluish) ballast on the (yellowish) sand at the right in picture 1 (near the curve) also hints at some X m-grid (where X could be around the familiar 8m). But it could also be, that the ballast was painted onto the terrain texture - it is there under the bridge, too. And wider than the bridge at its end. In front of the engine in picture 1 you can clearly distinguish the ballast which is part of the track (with the higher resolution), and the extended flat line of ballast.

Look at the bridge in the background  Certainly looks like it's casting a shadow, it's just that the sun doesn't seem very high in the sky.

As for loading freight, I seem to remember Kuju announcing the ability to do this about a year ago!

Nope, no shadow. Just a darker texture.

Announced yes, what I would like to know is if it is still in.

Looks like I just have to wai for the next set of screenshots / movies or one and a half more months :)
