Paddington to Penzance Version 2.4.7

Postby dwjoy on Sun Oct 16, 2005 7:01 pm

The patch to upgrade from 2.4.6 to 2.4.7 has been released - again rather larger than I would have liked. Anyway, this patch:
1. Re-works the Liskeard to Looe branch (some more work to be done there).
2. Introduces improved trackside vegetation at many points.
3. Re-work the eastern approach to Swindon to try and improve fps there.
3. Introduced sound effects at the Dawlish seawall and at Looe sea front
4. Revised buildings and scenery in Taunton area
5. Improved scenery in Saltash vicinity.
6. Miscellaneous improvements

Finally 8)
You've tweaked my local area :) Howabout the addition of the missing stations now (Probably outside your no track changes though)
Edit: You might want to consider tweaking the category to patch rather than route to match the others.

The last set of sms errors are fixed by the sounds patch in the library- You don't have the railwaves enhanced track sounds installed. Off the top of my head, I think the yachts were introduced in a previous version?
Final point- Make sure you have updated in order, or else things like this will happen.

Cheers

Did you keep a backup copy of the 2.4.6?

Simple searching on the download site only revealed the latest GWR patch 2.4.7 and what I believe is the ptch to the original route. No sign on 2.4.2 2.4.2 etc
Loading and checking all these patches in turn is a long-winded and tedious business,. Is there a chance of a single up-dating download or a new CD ?

Hi Derick

GWR 247 Patch installed perfectly as usual with no errors at all.

The added scenery is brilliant and P2P is really building up into a very nice Route indeed.

Looking forward to the GWR 248 Patch with more scenery!! (That's just me being cheeky Derick)

Thanks ever so much for all the hard work you are putting into this Route.

Kindest Regards

Mike

Mike,
Thank you for your kind comments. There will be a 2.4.8, of course and one of the added features will be the Uffington Horse. During my recent visit to the UK, I had to take a drive to Uffington to resolve a disagreement about which way the horse faced - towards London? .. or towards Bristol?..

Chris,
Howabout the addition of the missing stations now

I suppose you mean Keyham and the Dockyard Halt? Passed through them recently on a Penzance to Exeter trip... I could do it, but they would be close to St Budeaux and Devonport Stations. My feeling is that the time would be better spent on upgrading the Millbay Dock area.
