Ally Pally 22nd & 23rd

Train Crews require for the Canadian Mountain Run!!! at the show.

Duncan did it at Brighton and took the best part of eight hours without a break. So this time we need crews (four minimum) to run the train.

We will use two of the big engines, numbers 4014 and 4018 that have physically moved in the last year.

There needs to be preparation (it takes half an hour to fill the tank up!!) at the start of the two runs, which will be between Revelstoke and Golden, the Golden and Eldon.

The train despatcher on the mountain section has 80 hoppers (Yep!! this allows the train to be seen in and out of the tunnel sections at the same time) to shift and each engine will work those two sections respectfully. Booking on will be Saturday 22nd March @ 08:00 at Ally Pally for the first set of crews and I would think the other set will either be late Saturday or early turn Sunday.

The run will have to be good, Duncan knows it can be done and proved it at Brighton, no crashing (Train or PC) this is serious. And the crews have to competent and helping when its not their turn.

We will need the speakers and remember ear defenders if you don't like the noise, because we are not turning them down!

Sign up here and I will built the run this weekend.

Early sign-on crew will get bacon sandwiches supplied ;-)

Sounds like an excellent plan to show that it can run all day like it did at Brighton.

I'll do a run.

Lectures finish here on Wednesday, so I'll be staying around Cambridge as a staging post for Ally Pally. I've been getting into SimSig recently, so I might have a play of that.

thanks,

Thanks John.

Any others coming on-board?

Who's this Robert thing, I will have to get him passed out by Callum and on 158's before I let him loose with a Big Engine.

You will need the Bacon Butties, it takes an hour to prep the engine and get it on to the train and it's going to be a six o'clock start in the sim.

Right All! you lot. Train crews will be wanted.

All A BOARD!!!

We have a 100 boxes on the hook, it takes the best part of Nine Hours to run the complete route, with engine changing and more importantly servicing before the start of each section.

You can see the train at both ends through the tunnel sections.

It looks like its going to be John and I first shift.
Maybe Callum (Traction Inspector) is going to have to book you no show (Late on Shift - Tut Tut).

Any other takers?

Yep! engines are warm and the boxes are ready to roll!

This is going to be very serious weekend, because we will have to report our progress and capability in running the train.

As I said previously, Duncan did it at Brighton and it can be done again with great care.

I need a sound sample from the whistle to replace the "choo choo" sound on the iPhone. I have that one set for my VIP callers i.e. my bosses and team mates + Pete. If I get an email from them the phone hoots a steam whistle to let me know. That immense whistle that we heard a lot at Brighton is just right.
