what does screen percentage do?

Postby Ximmy on Sat Apr 15, 2017 11:31 am

trying out tsw on my lowly laptop, it wasnt looking good. turned everything down to minimum to get mid to high 20's fps.
looked awful, worse than ts2017. then tried playing with screen percentage. i am now running with graphics on high at the same fps with a screen percentage of 65. i cant really see what it does apart from increasing fps. what does it do?

Googled your question and found this. It just lowers your resolution.

It changes the resolution that the games write to before writing to actual screen. Below 100%, is same as choosing a lower resolution in the monitor-resolution selection, but the game (video driver) will handle upscaling internally and you can be sure to have the right aspect ratio.

Choosing higher than 100% is like using NVidia DSR ("Dynamic Super Resolution") and also a bit like SS-Anti Aliasing. The game pretends your resolution to be higher than actual screen resolution when rendering the image, then scales it down while writing it to the monitor.
