Challenge - Penzance to St. Ives

Postby cymglo on Mon Sep 27, 2010 9:31 pm

My entry is going to be Penzance - St. Ives, set in the present day.

I know there's a 1950s route in progress covering the same area, however this was on my shortlist of possible challenge routes, and it fits onto 20 tiles so have decided to go with it.

Will include the main line from Penzance as far as St. Erth, then the branch up to St.Ives with stations in between. Will also include Long Rock which will allow for a small bit of shunting etc.

Now for the planning over the next few days, plus cab ride dvd on the way to help with scenery!

Cheers,

Matthew

Hi,
I will be very interested to see how your version of this route turns out because I've been doing it for w while, but yours will probably be more accurate, I don't seem to have enough patience for a real life route :P . But otherwise I hope it goes well, can't wait to see the final result and I wish you the best of luck :D

Hi Matthew

Welcome to the Challenge.

An interesting route in a delightful part of the country. Don't forget the Artists painting the Harbour at St Ives and the seals that follow the boats into the harbour :D

The very best of luck Matthew. I wish I'd had the foresight to do a coastal route!

I wasn't aware we had default seals in RW!

Cheers

So here's a few screens of progress so far, track laid to St.Erth, small bits of basic scenery around penzance for now.

Plan is to finish off track to St.Ives with basic scenery, then go back in a week or so to complete scenery.

More screens to come in a few days as I get further along

Hi Matthew,

Just a polite enquiry about your progress. Just happens you've chosen one of my favorate parts of the country to do.

Best of luck with it and I hope it's going well.
Kind regards, Paul.
