I have lost track of how many finished routes there will be but I am quite surprised myself at what can actually be achieved in a week.

I'm having problems cloning my route.
Not used this feature in RWTools before.
I select my route, press Clone Route and the spinning cursor Vista thingy just keeps on spinning. I left it for 15mins to see if it just took a while...
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks
K

Hi Keith

It should only take a minute or less to clone a route. Try reading the RW Tools help/manual again to see if you have missed something.

With still a few hours to go until the final deadline at the end of 'tinker time' this evening, we have eight routes uploaded for judging and with my own route nearly ready (not for judging), I think we can say that this has been a pretty successful Challenge. It will take the judges some time to do their work properly on this number of entries but judged they will be and they should all eventually get uploaded to the UKTS library with final permission from the authors.

Watch this space, as they say.

Thank goodness for tinker time, and this raises two question. First the route description file the one I made keeps crashing the sim. I used the Oxford to Paddington HTML file, edited it and then saved it in my routes directory. Now Railworks doesn't load till I delete that file. Did I miss something.
Second I've found a couple of signals that need fixing, as well as some floating scenery. Fixing floating scenery counts for tinker time right?

James.

P.S. Problem 1 solved. Needed to use a proper HTML editor like Frontpage and it now doesn't crash the game.

Hi James

Fixing the route description is OK as that counts as a 'technical' matter. The floating scenery is really a part of the route building section but as the judging will be based more on compliance with the Challenge criteria than the placing of the scenery some attention to floating scenery will improve the overall look for the user without adding any further items and will be acceptable.

Thanks Geoff, I have fixed the description and a the signals. I will also fix the floating scenery that jumped out at me but I won't spend a lot of time on it. Actually I doubt many people would have noticed it initially but after you've noticed it once, you keep noticing it.

Cheers,

James.

Hi all

Just a quick update to say that the routes are in the process of judging but the standard is very high and it will take a little time to asess them properly.

No comment from the judges yet on individual routes but I can say that all eight final entries are quite remarkable indeed given the very short amount of time available and just using default assets.

Can somebody tell me what kind of foliage is used inside the red box?
Thank you.
BDW., the foliage looks great in this image!
The image is from the blog from Derek.
