Hi all
In between finishing one route, getting started on another and finding time to moan about Steam, I have come up with another brilliant idea
Inspired by the battle between Derek and Sly to build locos in record time, I think there is a great opportunity to run a slightly less intense competition to build ten new routes in one week.
The idea would be for about ten experienced route builders currently working on routes for RailWorks to stop for a week and have a go at building a new route from scratch over a period of a week. There would be a basic specification for the route which would include the requirement to create a new route template, loading screen and description, use of default assets only, about 5 miles long, at least one yard, three stations, etc, etc, Each builder would start a thread for their route and post shots of progress and also be required to answer questions from UKTS members so that others can learn from the project.
With a little persuasion, I am sure that some prizes could be found from interested parties for the best routes and the idea is that all routes would be uploaded to the UKTS library after checking and tweaking.
The finished articles need to be of a good standard so the ten or so builders need to be quite experienced and willing to set aside a week of their spare time to do this.
I am happy to do the organisation and will ensure that the event does not clash with anything else such as the RS.com charity project in December.
If you are interested then please post to this thread first -
