Very well done indeed, gents.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing all the other routes in the flesh.

Cheers

Congrats to all who participated.

Will the routes be free-ware? And I'm assuming they were using RW-Default-only stock/assets?
If so, where is a list of all the routes involved and where might one download them?
I'd like to check out some of them soon.

Happy holidays all! :)

The routes are being uploaded to UKTS so are freeware

Congratulations to all. Of course, the real winners are us, the community, so a sincere thank you to all who put the effort in!

Did I read somewhere that the winning route is to be included in the RW core for everyone?

Just wanted to add to this to say that all the routes are now available for download from here, on the front page!

My congratulations also to Keith and James on their achievement. Having run the two routes I fully endorse the judges verdicts. I was very pleased with third place considering that the latter part of the route was only very sparingly scenicked. (Thanks, Matt, for already extending my premium subscription for an additional year). I note in passing that it has been categorised as a UK route in the library. But it will be obvious to anyone who downloads it that it is actually located in Ireland. Since the end of the challenge, I have finished scenicking the route and made a few minor changes to the signalling. I will up-load a V.2 in a few days. In the longer term, I will replace the route infrastructure and signals with assets more typical of Ireland taken from my Dublin-Cork route.

Thanks Brendan, and congratulations to you also, as well as everyone that participated (especially Keith). I know we've all said it before but let's not forget to thank Geoff and Matt as well for everything they did to organize and host the challenge. Without their efforts a lot of this wouldn't have happened and Christmas woudn't be ruined for some. :P
Thanks everyone hope you enjoy the routes and look forward to updates in the new year. Now I'm off to do some chores around the house, then it's time to drive some more routes.

Cheers,

James.

Hi

I am sure that if there was enough interest a new Challenge could be arranged in the new year. We have learnt a lot from this one and it should be much easier to organise next time.

I am personally delighted with these Challenge routes and look forward to playing them all over Christmas as a user and not as a judge.

Thank you James, Brendan and everyone that took part, and congratulations to you as well. I had a run on all the routes last night. So much hard work - but it sounds like everyone is enjoying the new selection of routes. As route builders I think we'll all learn from each other - I know I have noticed a few techniques that have been used to great effect that may be appearing in future routes of mine  - but hey - I guess that's the point. Hats off in particular to Brendan and James for 'Great Achievements in Tree Planting' and to Hertsbob for his services to Landscape Painting - amazing stuff all!!

Looks like Geoff has another gauntlet ready to lay down!

I'm sure we're all looking forward to it :D

Thanks again and have a great Christmas.
