Not a Challenge - the Midland Mainline

Postby paulz6 on Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:03 am

I've recently started a new route. I will not submit is as part of the challenge. I hope it is interesting all the same.
I've marked out the MML, between London and Bedford. I've got the line marked out between the tunnel at Elstree and Borehamwood, beyond Bedford as the straight there needs to be dealt with. I've marked out the route, all lines up and down and slow lines as well. The resolution is warped, but a line of best fit will do.
I am interested in this challenge as I hope it will produce many fast route building tips.
I think I've got a few more days of marking to do though.
Good luck to all participants! It was too fast for me!
The value of your investments may go up as well as down.

Good luck with that Paul. Like you, I couldn't really engage with the challenge (not the right portion of my 6 week shift cycle and I don't think the "domestic authority" would have permitted the time to do it justice). However it has encouraged me to have another attempt at a small project of my own, "Heartbeat Moor" aka a poorly disguised NYMR. My greatest "challenges" are:
1. To try and get it ready for release in no more than ten weeks (i.e. late January).
2. To make sure I don't lose interest and keep plodding away at it!

Cheers Vern. I did consider having a proper go at the challenge, but the nature of the challenge does not really lean towards my interests. Might as well make it route building week instead! Whether this project vapourises will depend on getting a good scenic accuracy/progress balance.
I've got to say though, I am massively impressed at what people have managed to acheive so far in such a short space of time.
