Raising and lowering cab height

It's what the driver sees, it's possibly more important than even how it looks on the outside - but it's the most difficult bit to build. Learn how to make your own cabs, or how to use the ones that have been produced, how to wire up the controls and much more!

Raising and lowering cab height

Postby jands1 on Sat Jun 23, 2012 8:31 pm

I'm fine with adjusting the views from inside the cab as in the thread below - in effect this is moving the "drivers head" in the cab.
However does anyone know how to move the cab overlay up and down in relation to the main game - for me some cabs are too high or too low

The cab can only be moved by adjusting the pivot point of the 3D model. Move it down to raise the cab further from the rails or move it up to move the cab closer to the rails. You will then have to adjust the camera position in the blueprint to compensate for how much you moved the cab from its original position.

And worse than that, you need to redo every single control animation (unless you made the control model objects children of the cab model object) as they will position themselves where they were previously, not in relation to the moved cab.

In short, only the model creator can do it - and hopes they won't ever need to
