Wales & Borders Railworks

Well as I am now building the route in RW only due to a bit of bother with my PC & having a mare getting RS to work again mainly due to a slightly scratched RS CD I thought I would move the W&B screenshots in here. (Hopefully a mod can merge the thread from the RS section to keep the history going.
The reason I like to share progress reports is gauging what works & what doesnt with people on here, feedback always welcome as sometimes it's easy to overlook things.

Currently I'm continuing rebuilding the V1 & V2 area's of the route, assets/skill(ish) & idea's are better now than when I first built that lot so it was time for a refresh.

Todays pics are from SugarHill south yard & freightliner terminal. Both were present in the old versions but have been modified a fair bit to fit in.

Image
An overview of the area, sugarhill south yard in foreground, freightliner terminal in background.

Image
60072 on the "logs" from the central Wales line slows on the approach to Sugarhill Western A&D lines. It is travelling along the up goods at this point, the down goods line was removed some time back.

Image
Stood awaiting the signal into the A&D lines. The old rail to canal transfer basin is evident in the foreground & based on one I pass intact(ish) almost everyday.

Image
Over in the Freightliner terminal a Shed loads it's train.

Image
Image
Inside the terminal, the single OHLE fitted line is for arrival/departure of Electric trains, an 08/09 would then shunt the train under the loading gantrys.

Image
An 09 & 47 await there next move at the terminal. On the down main a broken rail is being worked on whilst drivers are warned by those really nice new ESR/TSR boards.

Image
Ex RFD 37068 hauls a ballest train out of the remenants of Sugar Hill south yard, hardly used these days. It's decline actually coincided with the opening of the freightliner terminal in the 1960's, when loose marshalled trains fell out of favour to block trains.

Image
Another look at the canal basin.

More pics to come as I have a few days to get some work done. :D

Have you tried the default track makeover package? You need to follow the instructions to the letter with it though as it's not a case of using the package manager, it has to be installed manually but isn't hard. You WILL need the rusty rail one, but the other finer rail one is an option.

Let me know if that fixes it. By the way you can download the RS or RW version from UKTS.

I have used IOW, foilage pack & Cajon pass plus a lot of downloaded assets off UKTS, hopefully I can get all the downloaded assets in one pack to download one day. Obviously Cajon pass is now included in Railworks & maybe the foilage pack?? So that would just need IOW which is a must as not only scenery from there is used but also actual track. As a lot of people's routes seem to use this asset then it's worth the price alone in my mind. Plus it's a decent & different route anyway.

All the best.
