What is a diesel version of an Electrostar?

Postby glasgowworks on Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:19 pm

The answer is London Midland's Class 172 Turbostar, which runs services out of Birmingham Snow Hill.
Yes, it's a new Class 172 model for MSTS, and it is expected to be uploaded to UKTS soon.

We join the train at Worcester Foregate Street...

172345 at Droitwich spa. This unit will continue to Birmingham Snow Hill.

Hope you like this brand new model, another addition to the modern image collection.

With regards :D

Looking good to me Ali.

Is that the Bris-Brum route by any chance? Or have I missed out on something?

Yes, that is the one. Actually, the section between Worcester to Droitwich Spa is part of the Snow Hill line which the Class 172s run.
Might appear somewhere on the EB Cross-City line, though.

I have done the Class 172/2 two-car unit this evening, and it is numbered 172211:

The Class 172/3 numbered 172345 has been packaged ready to be uploaded, however the 172/2 unit 172211 have still to be packaged yet, which will be done within a few days. The London Midland 172s should be uploaded very soon.

Cheers :D

Erm.. The 170 sounds that your models require don't seem to exist. Unless this works:

Never tell a train operator or computer that you're in a hurry.
And don't forget that the light at the end of a tunnel is the headlight of an oncoming train... :)

I have heard about the 170 sounds no longer exsist. The sounds that the Class 172 requre is no longer available. I'll need to update my London Midland 172's as aa result.

Hi there

How about using the sounds in Making Tracks excellent Greater Eastern's addon class 170 (if you own the product of course).

Just a suggestion

Hi Folks

The London Midland Class 172/2 and 172/3s will be re-uploaded within the next few days.
The units will now use the default KIHA31 sounds, since the Class 170 Soundset is no longer available.

Cheers :D

Hi

Just a suggestion, I know they are not the correct sounds, but wouldn't these sounds be a little closer than the default KIHA31 sounds?

If not just ignore this post :)

EDIT: This download has a soundset that it could be aliased to...

I think the default KIHA31 sounds will probably do for now, but thanks for offering, Mark.
