The paintwork appears to have been given a real enhancement, an in-service patiner. They look outstanding....I would like to see this working finish on other payware locos.

The Texture art has received some attention but I cannot garuntee this is the form that will be released because JT havent given me the thumbs up on these yet. I've also been doing some other rework in response to some feedback in another thread... for example Headboards are now child objects and you will be able to choose a version with them fitted and without... Below are remainder of base pack locos.

Hi Matt

Judging by the screenshots only, the reworked colours are more subdued which in my opinion, is much better than the slightly luminous colours of the earlier shots.

Yes, thats probably what I was trying to say. Many thanks for more marvelous screenshots.....if Just Trains trains don't release these versions then I'm really sorry.

These updated paintwork finishes are so good, I had to blink several times...to see if I was seeing what I was seeing. The slightly weatherworn finish is spot on ( as mentioned in an earlier post...I wish I saw more like that in payware products) and I notice the copper pipe work. Please Just Trains....give the thumbs up to MDIveys fantastic work. Otherwise i will be sorely dissapointed. But, thankyou for sharing the screenshots.

I didnt mean to convey idea that there was any opposition to the new textures from JT or that they are dragging there heals, just takes a bit of time to get things organized as they have many projects on the go at once, not just mine. Its seems likely we'll be using these new textures anyway you'll be pleased to hear.

Thanks for all the information. It will certainly be worth waiting anytime necessary for such well finished models.

Matt - I'm most impressed with what you are achieving in 3DC. Are you shadow baking and if so how? And what are you unwrapping with?

Its all manual texture art I'm afraid David... I made my own "shadow bake" layer and then blended it in photoshop. Its a technique I plan to develop further on my next model which is already underway. You really need to do the texturing with it in mind which i didnt because I didnt think it could be done or even approximated... which is what i'm doing I guess.

Matt, are the sounds in the latest video representative of the final product? Love the whistle, but the chuffing at high speeds is inaudible (unless it's the video degrading it). May I politely suggest that at high speeds, the sounds be a looped recording, like on MSTS, as they always sound more convincing (even the RSC Tornado and Hall would be better like this). Good luck with completion of this astounding project. :D

Regards
Chris
